Police Towing Rates for passenger automobiles and motorcycles, motor bikes, mopeds

Rates are uniform, regardless of towing company, day or time of the week. This form is only a partial list of Dept. of Telecommunications and Energy rules governing towing intended for general informational purposes only.

Tow Rates effective October 15, 1997:

Charge for towing up to five miles is $75.00 (220 CMR 272.03)
Additional labor: The "Rate per man Hour" is now $27.00
A $30.00 per half-hour per vehicle charge may be assessed after one hour at the scene.
The time of arrival at the scene and departure from the scene MUST be shown on the tow slip.
If an additional service vehicle(s) is required at the scene, the charge per vehicle will be $75.00 for the first half hour. A $30.00 per half-hour per vehicle charge may be assessed after one hour at the scene. Again, the time of arrival at the scene and departure from the scene MUST be shown on the tow slip. (220 CMR 272.03)
The Additional Labor rate of $27.00 will apply per hour or any fraction thereof.
The Rate Per Mile Over five Miles is $1.25

Storage Charges:

$20.00 for each 24-hour period, not necessarily calendar days.

Vehicle Pick Up:

Vehicle's registered owner must obtain release authorization from Easton Police

Full balance of service bill, usually cash only

Proof of ownership and identification needed (i.e.: driver's license)

Vehicles may be picked up during normal business hours unless other arrangements are made with the police tow company.

Tow Release:
